Sagot's Gallery (Adresse Sagot, or, La Vitrine Sagot) - GEORGE BOTTINI - lithograph printed in colors

GEORGE BOTTINI
French , (1874-1907)

Lithograph printed in colors, 1898, Southard 27, edition 52 (with remarque). 12 1/2 x 8 3/4 in. Signed and dated on the stone, lower right. Signed in pencil, lower right below the remarque. This is a superb impression with full margins printed on china paper. The condition is excellent. This outstanding work is illustrated on the cover of, George Bottini: Painter of Montmartre by Edna Carter Southard, Miami University Art Museum (1984). Pencil signed impressions with the remarque are rare. Impressions without the remarque are more common and the signed ones were meant for special clients. Sagot was the publisher of Bottini's work. (Note: The pencil signature in the lower right is printing very light due to a reflection. It's actually dark and easy to read.)      SOLD
