And his Name that sat on Him was Death (Et Celui qui monté Dessus se nommait la Mort) - ODILON REDON - lithograph

ODILON REDON
French, (1840-1916)

Lithograph, 1899, Mellerio 176, edition 100. 12 3/8 x 8 7/8 in. Signed on the stone, lower right, with the artist's monogram. Here we have a superb, rich impression. The paper is a chine appliqué and the margins are full. The condition is very good apart from a soft ripple in the sheet, a spot of foxing in the upper left corner just outside the image, and the extreme right edge of the sheet is toned. This is plate III from the series, Apocalypse de Saint-Jean. The printed titled is just below the image in the lower left.      SOLD
