The margins are full and the condition is excellent. Essentially a monotype, this nocturnal forest scene is one of the most painterly of the "Nike" series of diamond drypoints.

The margins are full. The condition is fine apart from minor soft wrinkles in the lower right margin. This is plate 9 from the Amour suite as published by Vollard and printed by Clot, Paris. Here we have one of the finest prints by the artist and a stellar French color print from the 1890s. This work is not always signed in pencil.

(Old paper hinges remain on the right edge of the sheet in two places, verso.) This work was published by La Galerie des Peintres Graveurs, E. Frapier, 32, Rue Vitor-Massé, Paris, for "l'Album Maîtres et Petits Maîtres d'aujourd'hui." The Galerie blindstamp is in the lower right (Lugt 1057b). The condition is fine other than a break or two and a small paper loss in the margins. This is plate 17 "au bureau du Musee Francais-Anglais," printed in Paris by Vayron. Dore was one of the finest draughtsman of the 19th century.

The margins are full. The condition is generally fine apart from a faint suggestion of discoloration showing in the outer edges of the sheet. This work was published as plate 43, Album V, of L'Estampe Originale (1894).

This impression is also inscribed "Tirage suple're" ("Tirage Supplémentaire"). This is a very fine impression printed on chine appliqué with the remarque of the bat below. The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's just some subtle time toning along the extreme outer edges of the sheet.) This lovely, symbolist image is from Dulac's most celebrated series, "Suite de Paysages." This work was printed from zinc rather than stone, according to the frontispiece of the portfolio, and the printer was Monrocq, Paris. His blindstamp is in the lower right corner of the sheet. An excellent and thorough article about the Suite de Paysages appears in Print Quarterly, March 1995, Volume XII, No. 1, by Elizabeth Prelinger. (See pages 41-52.)

The margins are full and the condition is fine. Dupont was a painter, watercolorist and printmaker. He was close friends with Paul Signac and the Jean Emile Laboureur and exhibited in many Paris exhibitions during the 1920s and 1930s. The condition is fine. This famous fin-de-siècle image is Evenpoel's best known print. It was published by L'Estampe Moderne, issue No. 7, in November 1897, and printed by Champenois. The blindstamp of the publication is in the lower right corner (Lugt 2790). The artist's blossoming career was cut short when he passed away at the age of twenty-seven.

The margins are wide and possibly full. The condition is excellent. This is plate one from the series of nine portraits, Meisseurs du Feuilleton, and was published under the title of Masques et Visages for "Paris, Journal non politique". Ex-collection: SPB (Dr. Samuel Perkins Bailey, not in Lugt). Impressions of this print are located in the Metropolitan Museum in NY and the British Museum.

Etching and drypoint, 1885, Duvivier 45 (iv/IV), edition probably about 30-50. 21 x 18 in. Signed and dated in the plate. Signed with the artist's red stamp (Lugt 1182) in the lower right. This is a superb impression rich with burr. The margin are somewhat narrow (1/2-1 in.) on the top and sides but this is probably the full sheet as printed. This large work is a fine example of Goeneutte's work as a printmaker. He did not generally record his editions and probably printed them "sur demande." He rarely signed anything in pencil and was content with his red stamp, as was so often the case with Buhot. Marcellin Desboutin is credited with inspiring the artist to make prints and Goeneutte was also friendly with Manet and Dr. Paul Gachet, among others. Ex-collection: Henri M. Petiet.
