Lithograph, 1927-1933, Chapon/Rouault 364 viii/XII, Wofsy 59, edition of 60 in this state. 17 1/4 x 22 5/8 in. Signed and dated on the stone, lower right. Signed, dated and titled in ink below, "Automne - 2e tirage - 1933 - Georges Rouault." This is a fine impression with rich contrasts. The paper is a heavy wove with full margins. The condition is fine. Chapon/Rouault lists twelve states, with all states printed in 1933. They have ten states described by the artist, followed by an "Etat definitif" (the final state) but with an intermediate state between the 5th and 6th, making a total of twelve states. There was an edition of 60 printed in the 8th state (actually the 9th state), listed as "Deuxieme tirage," while the final state is described as the "troisieme tirage," with an edition listed of 175 impressions. Of all the other states, there were just a few proofs printed. This large, impressive work is an outstanding example of his printmaking. There's also an intaglio version of this subject with is very similar.

Etching, 1861, Melot R4 (iii/III), edition unknown. 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 in. Signed and dated in the plate, lower right. This is a fine impression printed on a cream-colored chine appliqué. The margins are full and the condition is very good. Rousseau produced only four etchings and this is the most common as it appears here; the third state as published in the Gazette des Beaux Arts in 1861. Early state impressions are very rare and the letters of the third state are occasionally found masked or roughed out to present the appearance of a first state. Rousseau exhibited the painting of the same subject in the Salon of 1861. This is a fine example of Barbizon printmaking at an affordable price.

This wonderful image is from the series of six prints called "L'Album de Paysages," published by Vollard and printed by Clot.

This is a superb impression in very good condition. The margins are full with a deckle edge on all sides. There's a subtle trace of staining in the lower left margin corner and slight toning on the verso of the sheet. Taquoy lived and worked in Paris and exhibited at the Salon d'Automne from 1904 and also at the Salon des Indépendants from 1905. This exceptional, large work is illustrated on page 86 of From Pissarro to Picasso, Color Etching in France (1992) by Philip Dennis Cate and Marianne Grivel.

He produced three prominent woodcut portfolios; the Cathedral Series, the Passion and the America Series. A large collection of his work in at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. This print relates to the Cathedral series but is not formally part of it.

This is a fine impression of this large work printed on thick Japanese paper. The margins are wide and the condition is very good. Thiemann produced a remarkable group of floral woodcuts along with his better-known arts and crafts style scenic landscapes and European town scenes. He produced over four hundred woodcuts most in very small editions.

Signed in pencil in the lower right corner of the margin and also inscribed to the printer, Frederick Goulding ("a M. Goulding, J. Tissot"). This is a superb impression printed on fine laid paper. The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's just a tiny repaired split in the upper left corner of the sheet.) Tissot worked closely with Goulding as soon as he became serious about his printmaking career.

This is a superb, luminous impression printed on VAN GELDER watermarked paper. The margins are full and the condition is excellent. This stellar work is from the collection of Michael Wentworth, the author of the catalogue raisonné of the artist's prints. (His name is stamped in black ink in the lower margin, Lugt 4860.) In the distance beyond the portico is the Church of St. Martin's-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square.

This is a fine impression from the first edition, printed in grey black on beige wove paper. The condition is fine and the margins are full. This exemplary work is from the set of thirteen lithographic portraits of actors and actresses called "Treize Lithographies." The set was published before 1906. Louise Balthy (1869-1925) performed at the Moulin Rouge, the Folies Bergère and other famous Parisian night spots. Impressions of this print are in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.

This beautiful print appeared in the album "Etudes de Femmes" with a cover designed by Vallotton and including works by Toulouse-Lautrec, Hermann-Paul and others.
