Drypoint, circa 1935, van Es D141, edition unknown. 8 1/8 x 9 1/2 in. Signed in pencil. This is a fine, rich impression of this very rare print. The margins are full and the condition is fine. The catalogue by van Es states there is only one known impression of this compelling "sensitivic" drypoint. For most of his prints, the editions are small and many works were destroyed when his studio was ransacked by the Nazis. His life, and that of his wife, Elisabeth, ended in Auschwitz.
